Willow Grove
Willow Grove is based at St Patrick’s University Hospital in Dublin 8. Willow Grove has 14 inpatient beds, while its multidisciplinary team also provides a homecare service. Adolescents can receive a multidisciplinary assessment there when the referrer has significant reason to believe that the young person has a mental health disorder.
Willow Grove offers a wide range of treatments, including medical, psychiatric, psychological, social and educational interventions and support. A range of conditions are treated at Willow Grove, including:
- Mood disorders
- Anxiety disorders
- Eating disorders
- Psychosis
- Hyperkinetic disorders, such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
Its inpatient unit operates a therapeutic milieu model, which is a safe and supportive environment where the team works to enhance the young persons’ motivation to move towards recovery and develop skills to maintain optimum mental health. Staff at Willow Grove work in collaboration with the young person and their family.
Adolescent Dean Clinic
The Dean Clinics is SPMHS' network of community-based mental health clinics.
The Adolescent Dean Clinic is a dedicated adolescent mental health clinic running within the St Patrick’s University Hospital campus. It offers assessment and therapy for a wide range of mental health conditions, with treatment tailored to the needs of the young person receiving care.
Referrals
Referrals to both Willow Grove and the Adolescent Dean Clinic are accepted from healthcare professionals such as GPs or family doctors, and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
