Fifteen primary and secondary schools across Ireland have been shortlisted in our school achievement awards.
Mission Possible is our annual awards programme for schools, celebrating their mental health promotion and awareness-raising activities.
We received some incredible entries to this year’s competition, which closed for applications in late March. Teachers were invited to submit their school’s mental health initiatives under one of three categories and to upload images, videos or other documents from the initiatives to our School Portal.
We’re delighted to reveal the shortlisted schools in each category below. Amanda McArdle, WIMS Campaign Manager, said:
“It was a real privilege to see all the entries coming through to Mission Possible this year. Teachers and students in Ireland showed real imagination and enthusiasm in coming up with ways to open conversations about mental health and wellbeing and support each other through what have often been stressful and uncertain times."
She added: "It’s great to see that our shortlisted schools come from each of the four provinces, which just highlights the amazing work that schools all across Ireland are doing to make mental health and wellbeing a priority.”
Our judging panel now has the tough task of reviewing the shortlisted entries and selecting the winners, marking them based off each initiative’s goals and outcomes, how they were put in place in the schools, and a number of other factors.
Winners will be announced in an online ceremony at 12pm on 4 May, with the winning primary and secondary school in each category receiving a €600 prize.
Best of luck to all those shortlisted!
