Win €1,000 and a school wellbeing support package from Walk in My Shoes (WIMS).
We have some very exciting news for schools! We’ve opened applications for our 2024 Mission Possible school achievement awards that celebrate the work schools in Ireland do to promote positive mental health, both in schools and the wider community.
Mission Possible is an initiative for primary schools, secondary schools, and further education training centres (including Youthreach) all across Ireland.
Running since 2017, these awards aim to promote positive mental health and wellbeing in schools and communities.
For this year’s competition, we have something extra special for our champions – the winners receive a dedicated mental health and wellbeing support package, a role as WIMS School Ambassador, as well as a €1,000 cheque towards their school’s wellbeing initiatives. The winner of our secondary school category will also get a place for a student on our 2025/26 Transition Year (TY) Programme.
All schools have to do to enter is tell us about a mental health and wellbeing initiative they are running and what event, activity or initiative they would organise with the prize money.
There are more details on how to enter and what our winners will receive below.

A unique year for the awards
Since 2017, our Mission Possible awards have highlighted school achievements from across Ireland. We’re delighted to launch a special year for these awards.
Sinead O’Kelly, Mental Health Promotion Manager with WIMS, explains more about the positive contribution schools can make towards young people.
“Schools are in a unique position to reach young people and have a powerful opportunity to support young people’s social, emotional, psychological and physical health.”
“Wellbeing and learning go hand in hand and everyone in the whole-school community has a role to play in supporting and promoting youth mental health and the wellbeing of all members of the school community.”
Sinead also explains the further impact it is hoped that schools can make with the prizes on offer through Mission Possible, adding that “we’re excited to expand the competition this year with the WIMS Ambassador and WIMS School Support Packageso we can continue to make a positive contribution to schools’ mental health and wellbeing initiatives. We are excited to work closely with the winning schools to further enhance the promotion of positive mental health in young people in schools and communities.”
