Our 2025 Frame of Mind competition will award schools prizes of up to €1,000 for their creative efforts in promoting mental health and wellbeing.
At Walk in My Shoes (WIMS), our Frame of Mind short film competition harnesses the power of creativity and storytelling to promote positive mental health messages and help reduce stigma surrounding mental health challenges.
We’re delighted to announce Frame of Mind’s return for 2025 and are inviting secondary schools, special education secondary schools, and Further Education Training (FET) centres (including Youthreach) to produce short films that convey a positive mental health message.
2025 competition theme
Life presents us with many challenges. Whatever these may be, practising gratitude can positively impact our mental health. Taking time to regularly recognise and appreciate the things we’re thankful for can help lead to improved emotional wellbeing.
All schools and centres entering Frame of Mind 2025 are asked to explore the theme of gratitude and to use short film to express the things they are grateful for and explore the things that positively influence their wellbeing.
Incredible opportunity for students and learners
We’re awarding prizes including a €1,000 cash prize for the winner of each category and a €500 cash prize for runners-up in each category. Winners and runners-up will also receive a trophy and certificate for their classrooms.
We’re delighted to welcome Michael Doherty from the RTÉ Guide; Tom Maher, Director of Services at St Patrick’s Mental Health Services; Eibh Collins, Shorts Programmer for the Galway Film Fleadh and Film and TV Manager at the National Talent Academies; and actor and filmmaker John Connors to our judging panel.
With our judges so immersed in both the film industry and mental healthcare, this is an incredible opportunity for students and learners, whether you're passionate about filmmaking, skilled at storytelling, or are interested in mental health promotion.
